For Commercial & Service Electrical Contractors

One trade, two businesses: service and construction finally on one P&L

You run one trade as two businesses: a service department and a construction division. The only place they meet is a month-end spreadsheet.

A data warehouse built specifically for electrical contractors running both a service department and a construction division. Connect the field service platform, estimating, project management, and the GL. Live in about 48 hours.

Synopsis is a data warehouse for electrical contractors running one trade as two businesses, live on your own systems in about 48 hours. ServiceTitan service tickets, Trimble Accubid estimates, Procore project records, Sage 300 CRE job cost, GC billing portals, and ADP payroll land in one warehouse keyed to the same technician, job, and address. A question like what service and construction each actually made last month, after the techs you moved between them, becomes a single query. Updated August 2026.

Popular pairings

The pairings that put two divisions on one P&L.

A tech moved to a construction job for three weeks belongs to both businesses. These pairings are how the cost follows them.

ServiceTitan + Sage 300 CRE

Synopsis integrates ServiceTitan service revenue and cost with Sage 300 CRE job cost, so the two divisions report on one ledger without merging systems.

Trimble Accubid + Procore

Synopsis connects the Trimble Accubid estimate to the Procore project record, so bid-to-actual variance is visible on the construction side while the job runs.

ADP + ServiceTitan

Synopsis joins ADP payroll to the ServiceTitan or construction division a technician actually worked in each week, so labour lands where the work happened.

Procore + Sage 300 CRE

Synopsis syncs approved Procore change orders to what Sage 300 CRE actually billed, so construction revenue is not left in a submittal.

ServiceTitan + Procore

Synopsis integrates ServiceTitan service tickets with closed Procore construction jobs at the same address, so warranty work is identified rather than absorbed.

GC billing portals + Sage 300 CRE

Synopsis joins GC billing portal pay-application status to Sage 300 CRE, so retainage and cash position read against the job.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Can it put service and construction on one profit and loss, with loaned techs and shared overhead split right?

Yes. Dispatch hours, job cost, payroll, and the general ledger land in one warehouse keyed to the same customer, job, and cost code, so loaned hours get charged to the division that used them and shared overhead follows a rule you set instead of a flat split. Synopsis brings the records together for analysis; it doesn't replace your systems of record.

Can't ServiceTitan just run both the service side and the construction side?

It does more here than people expect. ServiceTitan sells to commercial contractors running service and construction together, and it documents job costing and a percentage-of-completion WIP report. The catch is that it only covers the divisions actually in it. In the shops we see, the construction division's job cost sits in Sage 300 CRE and its estimates sit in Trimble Accubid, so the two sides still meet in a month-end spreadsheet. Synopsis reads whichever service platform you run next to the estimating system and the ERP, so the merge happens in the warehouse instead. It also catches the warranty callbacks: a service ticket opened inside a closed job's warranty window gets flagged by address, and its cost moves to the job.

How do you decide which overhead lands on which division?

You set the rule and Synopsis applies it every month. Most shops split on a driver they already track: revenue, direct labor hours, or truck count. The rule is written once, so both divisions get measured the same way at every close, and changing it re-runs the prior months on the new basis.

Does Synopsis integrate ServiceTitan with Sage 300 CRE?

Yes. ServiceTitan service revenue and cost and Sage 300 CRE job cost land in one warehouse keyed to the same technician, job, and address, so a service division and a construction division read on one P&L. The same holds for Trimble Accubid, Procore, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, ADP, and the rest of an electrical contractor's systems.

We run a system that isn't listed here. Can you connect it?

Usually, yes. The AI builds the connector from an export or an API, and a new system is typically flowing in days. If it can produce a file, it is a candidate.

How long until we can start asking questions?

Your first connected systems are answering questions in about 48 hours, and a full rollout lands in days, not a multi-quarter data project.

Do we need a data team or anyone who knows SQL?

No. We configure your warehouse with you and connect the systems you already run; your team just asks questions in plain English. Nobody has to write SQL or babysit pipelines unless they want to.

Does Synopsis replace the software we already use?

No. Your systems of record — ERP, CRM, accounting, and the rest — stay exactly where they are. Synopsis sits on top and joins them into one place you can query, so you report across everything instead of exporting from each tool.

Where does our data live, and is it secure?

Your data stays in your own warehouse — we don't keep a copy. Access is governed per user and every query is audit-logged. Synopsis is SOC 2 Type II, and you can review our live security posture in the Trust Center.

How is this different from a BI tool or a stack of dashboards?

BI tools chart data that something else already had to clean and join. Synopsis does that upstream work — connecting your systems, resolving entities, and enforcing your metric definitions — then answers in plain English, builds the dashboards, and traces every number back to its source.
