For Lower Middle Market Fund CFOs, Controllers & IR Teams

The quarter-end LP package, built from your administrator's PDFs instead of from forwarded emails

Your administrator holds the capital accounts on a platform you do not log into, so the quarterly package still gets built from forwarded emails.

A data warehouse built specifically for lower middle market fund CFOs, controllers, and IR teams. Connect the LP portal, your administrator's statements, monitoring, and the fund ledger. Live in about 48 hours.

Synopsis is a data warehouse for lower middle market fund finance and investor relations teams, live on your own systems in about 48 hours. Juniper Square LP records, your administrator's capital account statements, Chronograph portfolio values, the QuickBooks fund ledger, DealCloud relationships, and Passthrough onboarding land in one warehouse keyed to the same fund, LP, and period. A question like what is still missing before the quarterly package goes out, and which numbers do not tie to the administrator, becomes a single query. Updated August 2026.

Popular pairings

The pairings that build the LP package from systems instead of emails.

Your administrator holds the capital accounts on a platform you do not log into. These pairings put those numbers next to your own.

Juniper Square + Chronograph

Synopsis integrates Juniper Square capital accounts with Chronograph portfolio values, so the LP package and the monitoring file stop disagreeing at quarter end.

Admin statements + QuickBooks

Synopsis connects the administrator's capital account statements to the QuickBooks fund ledger, so an LP variance is found before the package goes out.

DealCloud + Juniper Square

Synopsis joins DealCloud LP relationships to Juniper Square investor records, so the same LP is one entity across fundraising and reporting.

Passthrough + Juniper Square

Synopsis syncs Passthrough subscription and onboarding status to the Juniper Square investor record, so a new commitment is reflected in the first package after it closes.

Carta + QuickBooks

Synopsis integrates Carta cap table positions with the QuickBooks fund ledger, so ownership and carrying value reconcile.

Chronograph + QuickBooks

Synopsis joins Chronograph portfolio marks to QuickBooks fund-level accounting, so NAV is traceable to the positions behind it.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Can it assemble the quarter-end LP package from our systems?

Your capital accounts, portfolio KPIs, fee and expense detail and fund-level performance land in the same warehouse, so the package fills from systems instead of from forwarded emails, and ILPA Reporting Template v2.0 output starts from your data rather than a copy-paste. The ILPA Performance Template, released in January 2025 and updated to v1.1 that April, applies to funds that commenced operations on or after January 1, 2026, with the first delivery due for Q1 2027 after four full quarters, so a fund that started this year is capturing for it already. Synopsis does not replace your fund administrator; it joins and reconciles what the administrator, the monitoring platform and the CRM each hold.

Our administrator sends PDFs, not data. Does that still work?

Yes, and that is the normal case below roughly $500M in AUM, where a third-party administrator books the fund on its own tenant and the GP gets a portal login rather than a database. Capital account statements, fee schedules and quarterly reports arrive as PDF or Excel and get parsed into tables in your warehouse, tied to your own ledger, so the statement and your books read side by side. The administrator stays the system of record for the fund's books.

What does ILPA's updated Capital Call and Distribution Template change for our notices?

ILPA released version 2.0 of the Capital Call and Distribution Template on September 11, 2025. Funds that adopt the new ILPA Performance Template use it for funds launched on or after Q1 2026, with the first delivery due in Q1 2027. Every other fund uses it for funds launched on or after Q1 2027. Your administrator still issues the notices. Synopsis holds the call and distribution detail from those statements next to your own ledger, so you can check a notice against your records before it goes out and answer an LP question about any line on it.

Does Synopsis integrate Juniper Square with a fund administrator's statements?

Yes. Juniper Square investor records and your administrator's capital account statements land in one warehouse keyed to the same fund and LP, so variances surface before the quarterly package goes out. The same holds for Carta, Allvue, Anduin, Passthrough, Chronograph, and the rest of a fund's systems.

We run a system that isn't listed here. Can you connect it?

Usually, yes. The AI builds the connector from an export or an API, and a new system is typically flowing in days. If it can produce a file, it is a candidate.

How long until we can start asking questions?

Your first connected systems are answering questions in about 48 hours, and a full rollout lands in days, not a multi-quarter data project.

Do we need a data team or anyone who knows SQL?

No. We configure your warehouse with you and connect the systems you already run; your team just asks questions in plain English. Nobody has to write SQL or babysit pipelines unless they want to.

Does Synopsis replace the software we already use?

No. Your systems of record — ERP, CRM, accounting, and the rest — stay exactly where they are. Synopsis sits on top and joins them into one place you can query, so you report across everything instead of exporting from each tool.

Where does our data live, and is it secure?

Your data stays in your own warehouse — we don't keep a copy. Access is governed per user and every query is audit-logged. Synopsis is SOC 2 Type II, and you can review our live security posture in the Trust Center.

How is this different from a BI tool or a stack of dashboards?

BI tools chart data that something else already had to clean and join. Synopsis does that upstream work — connecting your systems, resolving entities, and enforcing your metric definitions — then answers in plain English, builds the dashboards, and traces every number back to its source.
