For Med-Surg, Lab & Specialty Distributors

Stop writing off product that a report could have sold first

Your WMS knows every lot's expiration date. Your ERP knows who buys the SKU. The two meet for the first time on the write-off report.

A data warehouse built specifically for medical and lab distributors managing dated stock. Connect Prophet 21, your WMS, your planning tool, and the CRM. Live in about 48 hours.

Synopsis is a data warehouse for med-surg, lab, and specialty distributors carrying dated and lot-controlled product, live on your own systems in about 48 hours. Prophet 21 sales history, Infios WMS lot expiration data, NetStock cover and run rates, GHX contract terms, and Salesforce accounts land in one warehouse keyed to the same SKU and lot. A question like which lots expire inside 120 days and which customers buy those SKUs fast enough to take them becomes a single query. Updated August 2026.

Popular pairings

The pairings that sell product before it is written off.

The expiration date and the demand for the SKU sit in different systems. Joined, they become a sell-through list instead of a write-off report.

Infios WMS + Prophet 21

Synopsis integrates Infios WMS lot expiration dates with Prophet 21 sales velocity by SKU, so short-dated stock is ranked by whether anyone can actually take it.

NetStock + Prophet 21

Synopsis connects NetStock cover and run-rate forecasts to Prophet 21 on-hand lot positions, so over-cover is visible before it becomes expiry risk.

Prophet 21 + Salesforce

Synopsis joins Prophet 21 SKU-level purchase history to the Salesforce account, so a markdown offer goes to the accounts that already buy the item.

GHX + Prophet 21

Synopsis syncs GHX contract price floors to the Prophet 21 markdown you are about to quote, so a clearance offer does not breach a GPO price.

Körber + NetStock

Synopsis integrates Körber warehouse lot ageing with NetStock demand planning, so transfers between branches happen while the dating still allows it.

Prophet 21 + Sage Intacct

Synopsis joins Prophet 21 expiry write-offs to the Sage Intacct ledger, so the cost of dated stock is measured by category rather than absorbed.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Can it tell us which expiring lots will actually sell?

Your WMS lot and expiration records land in the same warehouse as ERP sell-through velocity by SKU and customer, so every short-dated lot reads with its weeks of cover and the accounts that already buy it. Synopsis brings the records together for analysis; it doesn't replace your systems of record.

Can it catch FEFO breaks and over-ordering?

Yes, both. Pick records read against lot dates, so a fresher lot shipped over a shorter-dated one shows up by warehouse and shift. Open POs read against run rate and the cover already on the shelf, so the buy that becomes next quarter's write-off gets flagged before the receipt.

Can our reps see the sell-first list without logging into a new tool?

Yes. The short-dated list lands where the reps already work: a data app they open in the browser, a scheduled email, or a post to the sales channel in Slack. Most inventory desks run it as a daily list by warehouse, and access is governed per user, so each rep sees only their own accounts.

Does Synopsis integrate a WMS with Prophet 21 for expiry management?

Yes. WMS lot expiration data and Prophet 21 sales velocity land in one warehouse keyed to the same SKU and lot, so short-dated stock is ranked against real demand in one query. The same holds for Infios, Körber, Blue Yonder, NetStock, Salesforce, and the rest of a distributor's systems.

We run a system that isn't listed here. Can you connect it?

Usually, yes. The AI builds the connector from an export or an API, and a new system is typically flowing in days. If it can produce a file, it is a candidate.

How long until we can start asking questions?

Your first connected systems are answering questions in about 48 hours, and a full rollout lands in days, not a multi-quarter data project.

Do we need a data team or anyone who knows SQL?

No. We configure your warehouse with you and connect the systems you already run; your team just asks questions in plain English. Nobody has to write SQL or babysit pipelines unless they want to.

Does Synopsis replace the software we already use?

No. Your systems of record — ERP, CRM, accounting, and the rest — stay exactly where they are. Synopsis sits on top and joins them into one place you can query, so you report across everything instead of exporting from each tool.

Where does our data live, and is it secure?

Your data stays in your own warehouse — we don't keep a copy. Access is governed per user and every query is audit-logged. Synopsis is SOC 2 Type II, and you can review our live security posture in the Trust Center.

How is this different from a BI tool or a stack of dashboards?

BI tools chart data that something else already had to clean and join. Synopsis does that upstream work — connecting your systems, resolving entities, and enforcing your metric definitions — then answers in plain English, builds the dashboards, and traces every number back to its source.
