Can Synopsis tie hosted gigabytes back to what we actually billed?
Your review platform workspace sizes, processing logs, time entries, and invoice lines land in the same warehouse keyed to the matter number, so hosted volume against billed volume reads matter by matter. The same join works on flat-fee and per-matter pricing, where the question becomes what the fee covered. Synopsis brings the records together for analysis; it doesn't replace your systems of record.
Our matters are privileged. Does Synopsis read document content?
It doesn't need to. Margin, billing, and productivity questions run on operational metadata: gigabytes, document counts, hours, dates, and dollars. The warehouse runs in your own environment, and review work product and document contents can stay out of scope entirely.
Our matter numbers are spelled differently in every system. How does Synopsis match them?
Each system gets mapped to one matter number. Synopsis learns the pattern each one uses, the Relativity workspace name, the QuickBooks customer and job, the client firm's own reference, then matches on that pattern together with client firm and date range. Anything it cannot match with confidence goes to a short review list instead of being guessed at. Once a matter is mapped, every later record for it lands on the same key.
