For Lower Middle Market Buyout & Growth Equity Firms

Four systems hold the quarter. The package still gets built in Excel.

You run the deal in one system, the fund at your administrator, and every portco in its own GL. Quarter end still starts with exports.

A data warehouse built specifically for lower middle market buyout and growth equity firms. Connect DealCloud, your fund administrator, Chronograph, and every portfolio company's ledger. Live in about 48 hours.

Connect what you already run

Every CRM, fund admin, monitoring, and portco ledger a firm runs.

Synopsis joins them into one queryable warehouse in about 48 hours, keyed to the same fund, portfolio company, and LP. Portcos keep the systems they already run; nobody re-platforms to be reported on.

Synopsis is a data warehouse for lower middle market private equity firms, independent sponsors, and family offices doing direct deals, live on your own systems in about 48 hours. DealCloud, Chronograph, Juniper Square, your fund administrator's portal, PitchBook, and every portfolio company's QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage ledger land in one warehouse keyed to the same fund, portco, and LP. Questions like which portcos are missing month-end and where covenant cushion is thinning become single queries. Updated August 2026.

Popular pairings

The integrations deal and operating teams search for, answered in one warehouse.

Instead of a point-to-point connector for each pairing, every system lands in one warehouse keyed to the same fund and portfolio company, so each pairing below is one query.

DealCloud + Chronograph

Synopsis integrates DealCloud's deal and entity records with Chronograph's portfolio monitoring, so the entry case and the current quarter's actuals read side by side without a re-key.

DealCloud + PitchBook

Synopsis connects DealCloud pipeline history to PitchBook market data, so a sourcing gap in a sector shows up against the deals that actually exist there.

Juniper Square + Chronograph

Synopsis joins Juniper Square LP commitments and capital accounts to Chronograph portfolio values, so the LP package and the monitoring file stop disagreeing at quarter end.

QuickBooks + NetSuite

Synopsis syncs portcos on QuickBooks and portcos on NetSuite into one chart-of-accounts mapping, so a KPI roll-up runs without asking anyone to change systems.

Sage Intacct + Chronograph

Synopsis integrates Sage Intacct trial balances with the Chronograph KPI set, so monthly reporting arrives mapped instead of arriving as an attachment.

DealCloud + Juniper Square

Synopsis connects DealCloud LP relationships to Juniper Square investor records, so the same LP is one entity across fundraising and reporting.

ServiceTitan + QuickBooks

Synopsis joins a portco's ServiceTitan job and revenue data to its QuickBooks ledger, so operating KPIs and the financials come from the same source.

Grata + DealCloud

Synopsis syncs Grata add-on target lists into DealCloud, scored against the platform's own customer and supplier data.

ADP + Sage Intacct

Synopsis integrates ADP headcount and labour cost with Sage Intacct departments across portcos, so cost per unit is comparable company to company.

Carta + Juniper Square

Synopsis joins Carta cap table positions to Juniper Square capital accounts, so ownership and commitment reconcile in one place.

Also joined for private equity firms: Dynamo + Chronograph, Affinity + PitchBook, Allvue + NetSuite, Cobalt LP + Juniper Square, Salesforce + QuickBooks, Xero + Chronograph, Dynamics 365 + Sage Intacct, Sourcescrub + DealCloud, Altvia + Carta, Paylocity + NetSuite, Toast + QuickBooks, Shopify + NetSuite, HubSpot + Sage Intacct, Anduin + Juniper Square, Accelex + Chronograph, CapitalIQ + DealCloud, and most pairings of the systems above.

Use cases

What deal teams and operating partners ask, and what an answer is worth.

Each of these is one question against one warehouse, answered without collecting a spreadsheet from every portfolio company first.

Can we assemble the quarter-end LP package from systems instead of emails?

Synopsis joins fund admin capital accounts, capital call and distribution history, and portfolio KPIs into one quarter-end view.

≈ $180K per year · illustrative

Can every portco report the same KPIs without changing systems?

Synopsis reads each portco's own GL and operating system and maps them to one shared KPI definition.

≈ $220K per year · illustrative

Which portcos are still missing month-end, and what changed for the ones that reported?

Synopsis reads submission status and trial balance deltas across every portfolio ledger on the same calendar.

Where is covenant cushion thinning before the lender calls?

Synopsis joins portco EBITDA and debt schedules to covenant definitions, tested monthly instead of quarterly.

≈ $65K per year · illustrative

What does diligence look like when the target's data lands in days?

Synopsis stands up the target's own systems in a separate warehouse so quality of earnings work starts from full history.

≈ $130K per year · illustrative

How does one portco compare to the others we own?

Synopsis normalises revenue per head, gross margin, and cost lines across portcos that run different ledgers.

≈ $85K per year · illustrative

ROI figures are illustrative estimates for a firm running two funds and eight to twelve portfolio companies, and they are a menu, not a sum. Your own numbers replace them in the first week on your data.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Can it assemble the quarterly LP package?

Your capital accounts, portco KPIs and fund-level performance land in the same warehouse. Your administrator's PDF capital account statements parse into a table that ties to your own ledger, so the quarter-end package fills from systems instead of from forwarded emails, and ILPA Reporting Template v2.0 output starts from your data rather than a copy-paste. The administrator stays the system of record for the fund's books; Synopsis joins and reconciles what the administrator, the monitoring platform and the CRM each hold.

Every portco runs a different GL. Can it still roll them up?

Yes, and how depends on the position. On a control buyout you can mandate read-only access, so each portfolio company's QuickBooks, NetSuite or Sage Intacct ledger lands in the same warehouse mapped to one chart of accounts. On a minority recap, a growth investment or a family office direct you receive the reporting package the company submits, and Synopsis parses that into the same tables. Either way revenue and EBITDA read portfolio-wide without collecting a spreadsheet from every controller.

What does ILPA's updated Capital Call and Distribution Template mean for us?

ILPA released version 2.0 of the Capital Call and Distribution Template on September 11, 2025. Funds that adopt the new ILPA Performance Template use it for funds launched on or after Q1 2026, with the first delivery due in Q1 2027. Every other fund uses it for funds launched on or after Q1 2027. Your administrator still issues the notices. Synopsis holds the call and distribution detail from your administrator's statements next to your own ledger, so you can check a notice against your records before it goes out and answer an LP question about any line on it.

Does Synopsis integrate DealCloud with Chronograph?

Yes. Both land in your warehouse keyed to the same deal, fund and portfolio company, so pipeline-to-performance questions become one query. The same holds for Dynamo Software, Affinity, 4Degrees, iLEVEL, Cobalt (FactSet), Juniper Square and the other systems you run: once they share a key, each pairing reads as one dataset.

We run a system that isn't listed here. Can you connect it?

Usually, yes. The AI builds the connector from an export or an API, and a newly acquired portco's ledger is typically flowing in days. If it can produce a file, it is a candidate.

How long until we can start asking questions?

Your first connected systems are answering questions in about 48 hours, and a full rollout lands in days, not a multi-quarter data project.

Do we need a data team or anyone who knows SQL?

No. We configure your warehouse with you and connect the systems you already run; your team just asks questions in plain English. Nobody has to write SQL or babysit pipelines unless they want to.

Does Synopsis replace the software we already use?

No. Your systems of record — ERP, CRM, accounting, and the rest — stay exactly where they are. Synopsis sits on top and joins them into one place you can query, so you report across everything instead of exporting from each tool.

Where does our data live, and is it secure?

Your data stays in your own warehouse — we don't keep a copy. Access is governed per user and every query is audit-logged. Synopsis is SOC 2 Type II, and you can review our live security posture in the Trust Center.

How is this different from a BI tool or a stack of dashboards?

BI tools chart data that something else already had to clean and join. Synopsis does that upstream work — connecting your systems, resolving entities, and enforcing your metric definitions — then answers in plain English, builds the dashboards, and traces every number back to its source.
